Reverb 10 Prompt: Make. What was the last thing you made? What materials did you use? Is there something you want to make, but you need to clear some time for it?
Author: Gretchen Rubin
What a great prompt! This year, and especially in the last 6 months since the wedding, I have probably "made" more stuff than I have ever done before. Part of my encouragement is my free time and this blog. Its fun to create things when you can share it with others!
Here are some highlights of the things I have made in 2010:
Our wedding invitations:
These are the three cards I designed and printed. We cut out these cards and attached them to some gold shimmer paper (found at Michaels). These were then put inside a gold shimmer envelope (along with a custom map) and was hand addressed with a brown extra fine sharpie. That gold envelope was then put inside a larger creme envelope that was printed with the same green design and the formal address. I wish I had a better picture of the final product. They really came out beautifully.
This one was a big thing for me! It was when J just started going back to school not coming home until later in the evenings. With him not home to cook, I had to do my best! This came out pretty great!
Really J and my dad did this project but it really changed the look of the front of our house!
This was another great update! The board and numbers can be picked up anywhere and looked so much better than it did previously.
This was a fun simple craft and made use of knobs that I was otherwise going to throw away. The metallic spray paint updated the cream knobs beautifully!
This was thanksgiving at my parents house. What a nice relaxing weekend.
Christmas Cards:
Yes this is the first time I am revealing the final product from Shutterfly. I still have big plans for the envelopes so look out for more!
For 2011, I really want to focus on my photography. I used to have a great set of 6 framed 8×10 prints from my travels and I really miss having my photography hanging up in our house.
I love how the Christmas card turned out! It looks great.
Great pot! Everything turned out wonderfully! I’m participating in reverb 10 too—-yay!
ooopss…i meant post not pot…so red in the face right now…lol
